Today we went to Houston for a Post-Operation and hospital visit with Dr. Fakhri. The number one thing on our to do list was to have him pull those packs out of his nose. There were two packs actually up in there. The first one that he pulled was vertical up in the top of his nose about eye level. He pulled that one and then waited about 10 minutes to see if there was any leaking and thankfully there wasn't! Then Dr. Fakhri pulled the second one, it was horizontal just right above eye level. Damon had the hardest time coming up with an analogy on how to explain how it felt having them pulled. Well about 3 hours after they were pulled he finally came up with one, it felt like he was pulling something out by it roots (like a weed or a plant). Ewwww... I don't know what that feels like and I don't think that I care to know. Just one of those things he gets to experience like I experienced child birth. Every time I think about the analogy it makes me want to throw up. Gag! We had to wait in the office a while longer to see if Damon could feel any leaking. Dr. Fakhri also put the scope up in there and showed us where he grafted the bone from to cover the leak on the skull. Kind of neat. Damon loved giving Dr. Fakhri a hard time about being able to go back to work. The tried to get him to say that he could go back tomorrow but that was a no go. We are now shooting for June 13th. A little sooner then expected. About 10 days sooner. Damon is hating laying around and is often bored! He isn't one that can take naps, I don't know what his problem is. We are so grateful that he got a great report today at the appointment and here is to next weeks appointment going just as well or better! We are so blessed to have all of this wonderful medical technology, the power of the priesthood, the healing power of prayers and all of our amazing family and friends that have been a wonderful support to us! So here is to hoping and praying for this chapter in our lived being over. We hope and pray that this will be our last and only side effect from that horrible wreck 7 years ago!
