Here are a few pictures from Jay's Art Show at Wesley Methodist Day School. As I said before, his art teacher is amazing and we love Ms. Debbie!!! Each children received a ribbon for one of their paintings. Jay also has a portfolio full of other art work that he did in the year. Ms. Debbie also make an art workbook for each of the children. It is an old book that would be thrown away, she let the kids mod podge the front and then on the inside she painted each page with white acrylic paint and then the kids got to color over it. You can see some of the words under the paint but that is okay because it doesn't matter. It is all about using what you have. :) Jay really enjoyed art this year but how could you blame him with such an amazing art program. I know he won't get anything in public schools like this and that is why I am so glad that he got to experience it! So here is the amazing artwork of our very own, Jay Grant Wright!!

The Mona Lisa
Originally by: Leonardo di ser Pieroda Vinci
Artist of this painting: Jay Grant Wright
(The second week of school Jay comes home singing about Mona Lisa. And the proceeds to tell me that he is learning all about di Vinci and how he painted the Mona Lisa. He then tells me that they are painting the Mona Lisa. And of course follows it with a 5 year old statement, "Mom, Mona Lisa isn't a very pretty lady." Thanks Jay for your outlook on it. I think that Jay did a wonderful job on his painting. Way to go Jay!!)

This is my FAVORITE painting he did!!!
The Starry Night
Original Artist: Vincent van Gogh
Artist of this painting: Jay Grant Wright
(I love that Ms. Debbie had 5 year olds paint this and much more! She outlined the painting and then talked them through painting in the lines. Ms. Debbie also proceeded to teach them all about Van Gogh and The Starry Night. This time Grandma Portie got to hear all about it when she picked him up from school. Jay loves art and I am so glad that he does. How could you not with such an amazing art teacher?)

Jay's Collage
(Looks perfect right? But he totally did this on his own. She showed them a sample and they had to glue all the shapes on themselves where they go. I love it!)

Jay's Clay Abstract Sculpture
He made a clown and then painted it.

Ms. Debbie's Art World
(Jay is at the very bottom in a light blue and brown shirt.)

Jay's art work on his classes art blanket for Ms. Debbie.

Jay with his classes blanket.

Jay's ABC Book
They got to cut out pictures from magazines and other fun things and then paste them in the book with what letter they started with.
